15 Natural Cleaning Products To Diy That Really Work

An easy way of doing so is to go green. So, what do you do when you cannot find a product that you depend on for cleaning your house? In this case, we suggest that you go for natural green cleaning products.

Sometimes, the ideal cleaning solution is right in front of your eyes. The good thing is that you can easily make a variety of homemade cleaners. They can help you clean your countertops, showers, and bathroom tiles. And the good thing is that you can use household staples, such as essential oils, peroxide, baking soda, and vinegar.

This article will talk about 15 do-it-yourself natural cleaning products that really work. They are effective and gentle on your body. Besides, they are not harmful to your kids or pets. Let’s get started.

Bathroom Cleaner

What you need:

  • Liquid soap
  • Warm water
  • Baking soda
  • Distilled vinegar
  • Lemon juice

If you want to make a solution to help you clean your shower, tub, and tile floors, you can get an equal amount of liquid soap and warm water. And then, mix the solution with 1 1/2 cups of baking soda. Afterwards, you can mix this solution in 2 tablespoons of distilled vinegar. You may also pour a little bit of lemon juice.

Laundry Detergent

What you need:

  • Baking soda
  • Sal suds
  • White vinegar

You can follow this method to make your laundry detergent using two ingredients: baking soda and Sal Suds. Create a mixture of 1/4 cups of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of Sal Suds. If You Want To brighten your whites, you may choose to pour 1/4 cup of white vinegar.

Carpet Cleaner

What you need:

  • Water
  • Dish soap

Often, pets leave a bit of dirt on carpets when they come inside. For cleaning this dirt, you can make a mixture of an equal amount of water and dish soap. Pour a small amount of mixture into the target area and then let it sit for a couple of minutes. Afterwards, you should scrub the stain until the area is cleaned.

All-Purpose Spray

If you want to make a general-purpose cleaning spray, you can try this method. You can clean almost anything with this solution, including light fixtures, sinks, and countertops.

You need the following ingredients to make this cleaning solution:

  • Lemon essential oil: 7 drops
  • Lavender essential oil: 10 drops
  • Grapefruit essential oil: 15 drops
  • White vinegar: 1/2 cup
  • Hot water: 13 fluid ounces

Now, put all of these ingredients in a spray bottle and shake for a while. The mix is ready to do the cleaning.

DIY All-Purpose Cleaner Without Vinegar

What you need:

  • Tea tree oil
  • Lavender oil
  • Distilled water

If you are looking for something to clean granite or marble counters, you should make a solution that won’t leave dull spots or cause erosion. In other words, you need a gentle spray that can get the job done.

Make a mixture using 1/8 teaspoon of tea tree oil, 1/4 teaspoon of lavender essential oil, and 2 3/4 cups of distilled water. Put this solution in a spray bottle and use it for cleaning.

Glass and Window Cleaner

What you need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Lukewarm water
  • Cornstarch

If you want to get a streak-free clean, know that there is no special ingredient for this purpose. But you can try this method to make an effective glass and window cleaner. Create a mixture of one cup of rubbing alcohol and one cup of lukewarm water. Afterwards, whisk this solution in 4 tablespoons of cornstarch.

Then pour this solution into a spray bottle and then apply it to glass, mirrors, or windows. Afterwards, use a microfiber cloth to wipe clean.

Wooden Floor Cleaner

What you need:

  • Dish soap
  • Lukewarm water

You can use a small amount of dish soap to brighten up your wooden floor. Make a mixture of one gallon of lukewarm water and 2 tablespoons of dish soap.

Stainless Steel Cleaner

What you need:

  • Dish soap
  • Lukewarm water

This recipe can help you make a solution to clean your chrome or stainless steel. You need only two ingredients: water and dish soap. Create a mixture and then apply spray on the target surface areas. Afterwards, use a microfiber piece of clothing to scrub the stain.

Oven Cleaner

What you need:

  • White vinegar
  • Coarse salt
  • Baking soda
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Essential oils

Get equal amounts of distilled white vinegar, coarse salt, baking soda, and liquid dish soap and make a mixture. You can add a little bit of lavender or vanilla essential oil for deodorising. Afterwards, you can apply this paste to your oven interior and wait for 12 hours.

Next, you can scrub with a wet sponge. Finally, you can use white vinegar to spray and wipe the area with a microfiber cloth.

Microwave Cleaner

What you need:

  • White vinegar

Make a solution with one cup of water and 1/4 cup of white vinegar, and then put the solution in the microwave for 5 minutes on high settings. After the solution is cooled down, you can dip a piece of cloth in it and wipe the stains and splatters with it.

Deodoriser for Kitchen Appliances

What you need:

  • Tea tree essential oil
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda

If you want to deodorise the toughest kitchen appliances, you can make a mixture with an equal amount of tea tree essential oil, white vinegar, and baking soda in a bowl. Then pour this solution down the drain during the disposal process. Next, turn on the unit for a while and then finish with some orange essential oil.

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

What you need:

  • Baking soda
  • Orange essential oil
  • Tea tree oil

For toilet bowl cleaning, prepare a mixture of one cup of baking soda and 15 drops of orange essential oil and tea tree oil in a bowl and then let the solution sit for half an hour. Finally, use a bowl brush to scrub the stain before flushing.

Air Freshener

What you need:

  • Hot water
  • Sage leaves
  • Salt
  • White vinegar

If you want to make an organic air freshener, follow this recipe. 

Pour one cup of hot water, a handful of chopped sage leaves, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and one cup of white vinegar. 

Allow the solution to cool down for 12 hours before first use.

Shoe and mattress Freshener

What you need: 

  • Baking soda

For your smelly shoes and musty mattresses, baking soda can make an effective deodoriser. 

All you need to do is sprinkle a little bit inside your shoes or on the mattress and let it sit for a couple of hours. 

Afterwards, shake your shoes outdoors and vacuum your upholstered furniture or mattress.

Laundry Spray

What you need:

  • Vodka

If you can notice the yellowishness of the underarms of your white t-shirt, you can deal with this nasty smell with a DIY vodka spray. All you need to do is pour some vodka into a spray bottle and then spray it on your tee. Let it sit for a while, and then give it a thorough wash.
