A new survey has found that domestic cleaning is still thought of by some as a woman’s job. According to a poll conducted by Karcher, almost one in four (23 per cent) people believe that cleaning tasks such as vacuuming carpets, mopping and dusting furniture is the responsibility of the woman in the house, reports Clitheroe Today.
Three-quarters (73.1 per cent) of women believe they are better at cleaning the house, while 29.6 per cent of men are confident in their ability to complete household cleaning tasks for effectively than their female counterparts.
More than four out of five (83 per cent) people surveyed said they would be more inclined to play an active role in completing household chores if they had access to more powerful cleaning equipment.
The survey, which was conducted to mark the release of Karcher’s new Man Vac product, found that some respondents question their partners’ cleaning ability, with nearly three-quarters (73 per cent) of people saying cleaning has caused arguments in their home.
The high incidence of arguments caused by cleaning suggests that couples could benefit from delegating their cleaning tasks to professional domestic cleaners, who are trained to carry out most common tasks with ease.
House cleaners can be called on to complete all domestic cleaning in London tasks around the home.
